Rosalie Returns For Her Son In “Angelito”

ROSALIE RETURNS FOR HER SON IN ANGELITO

After years of being away from Angelito (JM De Guzman) and their son, Rosalie (Charee Pineda) is back in the country to find the two in “Angelito: Batang Ama” this week. Now a successful flight attendant, Rosalie is ready and even more determined to fight for her right as a mother to Jun-Jun. The teenage mom was made to believe by Lola Pinang (Elizabeth Oroposa) that Angelito despises her and doesn’t want to see her ever again, which prompted her to decide to leave and focus on building a career to make herself worthy when she returns. Meanwhile, Jun-Jun (Joshen Bernardo) has already grown to be an adorable, street smart kid still under the care of Angelito and his second mom Jenny (Kaye Abad). How will Angelito and Rosalie cross paths after a long time? How will Jenny react if Rosalie enters the picture? Let’s The Movement Move “Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank” For Oscars!

Let’s The Movement Move Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank For Oscars!

I’ve admit it I haven’t watch “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank” when it was showed at Cinemalaya and in the cinemas but last week me and some other bloggers was invited to a special screening of “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank”. The movie was awesome and I haven’t felt any dull moment watching it.

“Ang Babae sa Septic Tank” (The Woman in the Septic Tank) is actually the official entry of the Philippines to the next year’s Oscars’ Best Foreign Language Category. Gaining a tremendous popularity as an indie comedy film first, it garnered five major awards at the 7th Cinemalaya Awards this year, leading the said film to further soar finally into the mainstream.

The story of Ang Babae sa Septic Tank is a chronicles of a day in the life of three ambitious, passionate but misguided filmmakers as they set out to do a quick pre-prod at a certain cafe, a courtesy call to their lead actress, Eugene Domingo, and an ocular inspection of their film’s major location, the Payatas dumpsite.

Director Rainier (Kean Cipriano), Producer Bingbong (JM de Guzman) and Production Assistant Jocelyn ( Cai Cortez) are well-to-do, well-educated film school graduates who are dead set on making an Oscar worthy film. They believe they have a winning script, the energy and the drive to make their dreams come true. Like most filmmakers they know, they have devised a screenplay that will show the real essence of our culture: poverty.

In the course of one day, they brainstorm and exhaust all possible treatment of their project: the story of Mila (Eugene Domingo), a mother from the slums, who out of desperation to survive, has sold her child to a pedophile. As they discuss the possible executions of the story, the movie-within-a-movie gets reborn in Jocelyn’s imagination several times. As a gritty no frills neo-realist film, as a glossy musical, as an over-the-top melodrama and as a docu drama using non-actors. For their last task of the day, they visit the dumpsite for the first time.

As filmmakers gunning for authenticity, they get excited with the “beauty” of the squalor around them. Soon enough, they are faced with reality as they come face to face with the real effects of their chosen subject. Babae sa Septic Tank is a comedy about misguided ambitions, the art of making art and the romanticization of poverty.

Babae sa Septic Tank tells the story of both worlds the story of a normal person and the story of the film industry.

To be included to the Top 5 in the Best Foreign Language Film category, everyone who was involved in this film had mixed emotions upon hearing about this very surreal announcement. They are honored, happy, proud and ecstatic Atty. Joji Alonso also feels the way that her team feels.

They need to have 30 Million pesos to support the campaign for the movie. They need guys our support lets spread the news. You can post this to your Facebook walls, in your twitter and you can also about about this. This film deserves to be a winner and if this movie will win, it will be easy for our films to be nominated for future Best Foreign Language Film category.
